It’s that time of year again, the season we’ve all been so excited about and even counting down the days to… Christmas?? Not a chance! It’s time for Jamaican Blue Mountain!
We only import Jamaican Blue Mountain at the end of November to make it a real treat, we don’t want to be spoiled now! Jamaica reserves its very best Grade 1 raw coffee beans for export, and we receive them in delightful traditional barrels, ready to be roasted to perfection.
This year we are buying from Stoneleigh, specifically the St Clouds Estate, who are located in the Parish of St. Andrew, not far from the capital of Kingston. St Clouds Estate holds around 45 acres of Arabica Typica and Geisha varietals of coffee, grown in shaded soils with the implementation of sustainable agricultural practices. This coffee is grown at between 1100-1200 metres above sea level, placing it firmly within the regulatory limits of what can be grown as Blue Mountain coffee.
Once we have it roasted, we will appraise the coffee to discover its delicious tasting notes, and we can go into a bit more detail here. For now, know that the Blue Mountain’s characteristics are smooth, sweet, and well-balanced with a robust aroma and a pleasing aftertaste.
Sold in 100g bags.
